Glam Media Launches Foodie.com, a New Social Network for Food

Glam Media has launched Foodie.comintegrating authentic food-related content and social networking to help people share and connect on the journey of food discovery. Foodie features a combination of established food critics, high-quality bloggers, chefs, restaurateurs and other food influentials.

“With time spent in magazines declining significantly, consumers are turning to online and mobile as their primary source for food content and ratings, but face the challenge of differentiating great food critics, premium bloggers, recipes and ratings online today. At the same time, traditional food guides such as Michelin only capture editorial and inspectors, missing the social energy surrounding food today,” said Samir Arora, Glam Media Chairman and CEO. “Glam Media built Foodie.com to be the single platform for all things food on the Web. Foodie is going to completely change consumer’s food experiences on digital, powered entirely through a social platform and driving the freshest, authentic content created by leading voices from top chefs, critics, bloggers and brands.”

Foodie is also hosting a panel of culinary experts, featuring acclaimed food critics and top chefs to provide a professional perspective on recipes, restaurants, ingredients and cooking techniques. This group will help nominate the world’s top restaurants and provide regional guides that will be produced regularly.

The Foodea Blog is Back!

Hey Everybody!

We realize that it’s been a (long.. long.. ) while, but we’re happy to announce that the Foodea.com blog is back up and running! For a while the foodea blog was a traditional food blog. Then we launched our actual site,Foodea.com, and converted the old blog into the official company blog. The company blog is no more! The Foodea blog is back to being what it was best, a blog. Don’t worry, we’ve brought back all of our older archived blog content, and kept our more recent company blog posts. You can find them all in the archives menu on the right side of the page, or by searching the site.

From now on, we’ll be using the Foodea blog to feature daily happenings in the wide world of food. There’s a lot of information that doesn’t really have a place on our main site, but we’d still like to feature it and discuss. The new Foodea blog will be that outlet. Watch for food news (both mainstream and industry focused), restaurant reviews, product features, daily deals, fun videos, food and drink recipes from around the web, and more! We’ll also continue to post Foodea.com company related updates here as well.

Have an idea for something you’d like to see on the blog. Let us know! We’re also looking for food bloggers to help out. If you’re interested in writing, please contact us.

Also, don’t forget to visit our main site, Foodea.com where you can create, find and share your favourite food ideas!

Thanks!

Matthew and Mike

The Last Four Weeks

Four weeks ago we launched foodea.com in private beta to family and friends at a wonderful get together.

With only a small bit of content, the guys and I showed them the fruit of nearly a year’s worth of work.

The initial response to foodea.com has been amazing and we have been working hard to improve the site.

We now have over seventy recipes, and twenty user videos.

Thanks to everyone for contributing so far!
