Green Tea, Big Hit for Hershey

Hershey created green-tea-flavored Kisses for the Chinese market last year, after signing a deal with South Korea’s Lotte Confectionery to build an $80 million joint marketing venture in China. Hershey aims to become the No. 2 chocolate seller there by 2010, but it faces steep competition from Mars, Nestlé, Cadbury Schweppes, and Ferrero, longtime players who together control 41% of China’s chocolate confectionery market.
