Eat food wisely and become a genius

January 15, 2008 | By More

We’ve all heard the term “brain food” but in Michael J. Gelb’s book “How to Think like Leonardo da Vinci” he outlines numerous ways for people to become smarter by eating.

Namely by expanding our senses by trying different foods and comparing them. An exercise he suggests is to buy three different kinds of honey. Smell each one for 30 seconds and describe the aromas. Then taste each, holding a spoonful in your moth and swirling it around and describe the tastes and the differences between each.

The benefit of doing these and other sensory exercises, Gelb argues, is greater sensory awareness, which leads to smarter thinking. Give it a try sometime.
