Green-ify Your Kitchen

  • Buy local. There is no reason to be buying vegetables from the other side of the country if they are available locally.
  • Nix the disposables. Try using cloth napkins and real plates. When getting take out, try to minimize the packaging materials (i.e. cup holders, extra bags, napkins, etc.)
  • Bring your own bags. It is hard to do, but once you get used to it, you’ll never go back. Try keeping a few in your car for quick access (in case you forget them at home).
  • Grow your own. What could be more environmentally friendly than growing your own vegetables? Afraid of a big commitment, start small with an herb garden and enjoy fresh basil, and parsley.
