Hershey’s Best Brownies

Hershey's Chocolate Lover's Cookbook

In my many years of making brownies, this recipe has been a consistent crowd pleaser. This version is slightly altered from the original, but it’s how I do it.


1 cup of butter
2 cups of sugar
2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract (i always sneak in a touch more)
4 eggs
3/4 of a cup of cocoa (hershey recommends using theirs, naturally)
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
pinch of salt


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  2. Melt butter.
  3. Mix melted butter with sugar and vanilla.
  4. Add eggs, mixing well after each one.
  5. Add the rest and mix well.
  6. Pour evenly into a greased baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes or until brownies start to pull away from pan edges.
  7. Cool and cut.
