Food Porn or Art?

This has to be one of the oddest short videos I’ve seen this summer. Called “an unconventional love story” it’s worth a few laughs.

The short was created by Joe Pacheco & Stavros Stavropoulos, and released by Peanut Butter No Jelly Productions, a Brooklyn-based production company founded by award-winning filmmaker & photographer Joe Pacheco.

The goal of pbnoj productions is to support and further the art of independent filmmaking through the production of culturally & socially significant films, exhibition of independent films with the Brooklyn Independent Cinema Series, and the providing of free video instruction & services for educational non-profit organizations.

My Strange Pizza Custom

pizza.jpgI have had a tendency for as long as I can remember to eat my pizza in a variety of strange ways. One manner that has often inspired comments in others is the fact that usually I will eat my pizza upside down. I cannot for the life of me remember how this started, but my logic for it is sound: your taste buds are on your tongue, the good stuff on the pizza is on the top, therefore, to maximize taste exposure, you must turn your pizza upside down.

I have often been ridiculed for this practice, but I maintain that it is a more enlightened and delicious way of eating pizza. So try it yourself and see what you think. Perhaps this is the beginning of a whole pizza-eating revolution!

Running An Efficient Kitchen

592963_kitchen_tools.jpgWant your kitchen to be more efficient? have created a short list of ideas that’ll help.

Here’s a few of our faves:

1) Start a grocery list. Keep a notepad on the fridge and train every family member to jot down any item once they’ve used the last of it. A magnetic notepad on the fridge is a lifesaver. If someone uses the last paper towel or drinks the last sip of milk, they write it on the list.

2) Do advanced prep work. Perform simple tasks like chopping vegetables or browning hamburger when you have a few spare minutes. This speeds up the process when you are assembling dinner.

3) Clean as you go. Wash dishes while you cook. Staying ahead of the mess makes cleaning up after dinner a breeze. Plus your kitchen doesn’t look like a disaster zone.
